Life inside a snow globe.

Let it snow! The more I live in this gigantic snow globe of ours, the more I realize the importance of change...or more importantly the ability to adapt to said change. When unseen forces shake things up, it's time to rethink where you are standing - or you might get thrown. It is so normal to have an adverse reaction initially but after it has sunk in, there is no better time than now to decide.

My most difficult adaptation as of late is waking up in the morning to run....

I was being awakened lugubriously at the crack of dawn (between 6:00am and 6:30am) every day by my housemate for two entire months before I decided to start waking up myself and going for a run.

As a prep and college athlete, I woke up three days a week at 6:30 to go for a morning run, but that was like 10 years ago and I am not on the same clock.

I kept starting my day in such an angry mood and realized that this is not like me in the least. I can be sarcastic and a little too direct at times (to name only two of my many faults) but the lack of sleep was turning me into a bona fide curmudgeon!

Had I decided to change earlier, I could have had another two full months of continuous training under my belt. Unfortunately, I waited until I could stand it no longer to take the early morning plunge but better late than never. There are so many reasons to get up early and go.

....This is just one of many of the changes that I will have to deal with inside my little snow globe. I just hope that next time I will realize what changes I need to make beforehand! For now, I'm just happy to note what a positive effect this one has had on me.
